is bartending school worth it
I went to bartending school and it was an absolutely amazing experience.
With that said it’s not for everyone. Everyone learns differently. Some people can learn online and save time and money, while others feel the need to pay and drive to a classroom setting.
The internet has disrupted traditional bartending schools and many people can’t justify going to a classroom for 2 weeks and paying expensive tuition costs. The same information can be found online at a free bartending school like ours.
How much is bartending school?
At traditional bartending schools, you can expect to pay between $500 to $800 dollars for a 2-week course. A progressive free online bartending school like ours will give the course for free, and then you can get additional pay for services where we would place you at a real bar for the much sought after bartending experience. No experience often means no job. So it’s still cheaper than traditional bartending schools and it gives you real world bartending experience.

Is Bartending a recession-proof job?
The fact is, drinking will never go out of style. It’s fun even when it’s not. Think of it this way, when times are good people drink and when times are bad people still drink. Recession can have an impact on many people’s careers. Not bartending!
Even in the direst of times, in the midst of an economic recession, you will find that bars and pubs are never empty. People will always visit those places, regardless of the current economic situation. This explains the high demand for this job.
Since 2018, the bartending industry accounts for more than 644,100 jobs. This number is expected to grow by 8% in the next few years, a percentage that is substantially higher than average. Bartending is one of the few jobs that can never be affected by a recession. As a beginner, you might feel a bit overwhelmed by the insane amount of mixology information available on the internet. How much does a bartender make a night?
A starting bartender should average around $230.00 a night, or about $23/hour for a full ten hour shift. So if you’re working twice a week, and making an extra $460.00, you’re right in the middle of where you should be.
Do Bartenders get paid well?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average hourly wage for a bartender is $10.36, and the average yearly take-home is $21,550.
*** These numbers, however, in no way reflect the reality of the situation. Generally speaking, a bartender earns much more than the government ever finds out about.
How long is bartending school?
Thanks to online bartending courses you can take the lessons at your own pace. It’s mostly common sense and some memorization and getting familiar with the terminology. Typically the bartending lessons can be completed in a day or two. The real-world intern placement depends on your schedule and the partner bars availability.
